Not always. Many extensions fall under permitted development rights which means you don't need formal planning permission. However this depends on the size, location and type of extension. We'd always recommend checking with your local planning authority or architect before you start. We're happy to point you in the right direction.

How Long Does An Extension Take To Build?

Every extension is different. A single storey extension typically takes between 8 and 16 weeks depending on the size and complexity of the project. We'll give you a realistic timeline before work starts and keep you updated throughout so you always know what's happening.

How Much Does An Extension Cost?

Every project is different, but as a rough guide many extension projects across Cornwall and Devon start from around £40,000 and increase depending on size, specification and complexity. We'll provide a detailed no obligation quote once we've visited your site and understood exactly what you need.

Will I Need To Move Out During The Build?

In most cases no. We plan our work carefully to minimise disruption to your daily life and keep your home as functional as possible throughout the build process.

Do I Need An Architect Before I Contact You?

Ideally yes. Having architectural drawings in place before you contact us means we can provide a much more accurate quote and get your project moving more quickly. If you're still in the early stages we're happy to recommend local architects we work with regularly across Cornwall and Devon.
